Practical support to live safely and independently at home.

At Little Victories Occupational Therapy, we believe that small changes can make a big difference. 

Our goal is to help older adults stay safe, independent, and connected in the comfort of their own homes. We provide practical support such as equipment, home modifications, daily living strategies, and gentle retraining to make everyday tasks easier. Equipment prescription & training

The right equipment can make daily life safer and more comfortable. We assess, prescribe, and provide training in a wide range of equipment including:

  • Electric rise recliner chairs
  • Adjustable beds + pressure care mattresses
  • Wheelchairs & walkers
  • Bathroom and toileting aids (shower chairs, over-toilet aids, bidets)
  • Kitchen & mealtime aids
  • Transfer aids such as Sara steady or hoisting lifters
  • Communication & memory supports and other aids to ensure you can remain or regain your independence throughout your daily life. 


Our focus is not just on recommending equipment, but ensuring you and your carers know how to use it confidently and safely, so you can maintain independence and reduce risk of injury.

Home Modifications

Improving home safety and accessibility.

We assess for and recommend modifications such as:

  • Grab rails and handrails
  • Level-access showers
  • Threshold ramps and step modifications
  • Flooring changes and non-slip solutions
  • Kitchen accessibility improvement
  • Door widening and mobility-aid access
  • Stairlifts
     

We work closely with builders and licensed tradepeople to ensure compliant, functional and cost-effective solutions.

ADL Retraining – Everyday Tasks

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) are the foundation of independence. We support clients to practice and adapt daily tasks such as dressing, bathing, meal preparation, and household management. This may include teaching new techniques, trialling assistive aids, or breaking down tasks into achievable steps. The aim is to build confidence, conserve energy, and promote dignity in everyday routines.

This includes:

  • Showering, toileting and hygiene
  • Dressing and grooming
  • Meal preparation and safe kitchen use
  • Continence strategies and environmental setup
  • Falls prevention during daily activities

Mobility Support – hand, Upper & Lower Body

Maintaining strength and mobility is vital for independence. We design exercise and retraining programs to improve movement in both the upper and lower body maximising physical ability to support independence and reduce falls risk.

Occupational Therapy intervention We provide includes:

  • Post-stroke rehabilitation
  • Strength and balance training
  • Coordination and reach training
  • Pain-management positioning strategies
  • Home-based exercise programs
  • Transfer training (bed, chair, car, toilet)
     

All programs are personalised and targeted to meaningful goals.

Cognitive changes can affect memory, attention, and decision-making. We provide activities, strategies, and supports to help you stay engaged and independent in daily life. 

We assist with:

  • Memory and routine development
  • Medication and appointment management solutions
  • Problem-solving and organisation
  • Orientation and safety strategies
  • cognitive retraining activities
  • Carer training for communication and behavioural support or to assist with carer stress.

Carer Coaching & Support

Cognitive Retraining and strategies– Memory, Attention & Problem-Solving

Carers play an essential role in supporting older adults, but it can often feel overwhelming. 

We provide coaching, training, and emotional support to carers so they feel confident in their role. This may include safe manual handling techniques, strategies for supporting independence, and education about equipment or daily routines. By supporting carers, we improve outcomes for both the carer and the client.
